OMC Foundation to host first Red, Set, Go Heart Healthy Virtual Run/Walk and Swim

The Olympic Medical Center Foundation is hosting the first Red, Set, Go Heart Healthy Virtual Run/Walk and Swim presented by Strait View Credit Union during the month of February, with proceeds benefiting the OMC Heart Center.

During February — the officially designated Heart Month — participants can choose between a 5K, 10K, half marathon (13.1 miles), marathon (26.2 miles) or marathon relay, and can either run, walk or swim any of the distances.

In addition to being a fundraiser, the event will be yet another way to promote the importance of a healthy heart.

“Participants can complete it all in one day or throughout the month,” said Karen Rogers, chair of the Red, Set, Go fundraising luncheon, and an OMC Foundation Board member. “This is the start line that keeps on giving event.”

The event is being held in conjunction with the Red, Set, Go Luncheon which also benefits the Heart Center, and will be held virtually on Feb. 26.

Registration is open for the run/walk/swim at omcf.org. Cost is $30. All participants receive a long-sleeved shirt, finisher medal, bib and several other items courtesy of Strait View Credit Union.

Completion of the Red, Set, Go Heart Healthy Virtual Run/Walk and Swim is on the honor system; however, participants can submit results on the race organizer’s results page.

Funds collected for this event go directly to Olympic Medical Center Foundation.
