PC sets adult recreation leagues

Adults who enjoy recreation soccer, volleyball or basketball will see a change in those opportunities this year, with volleyball and basketball starting earlier and splitting into two seasons.

The player fee for all adult leagues is $45. Individuals not on a team will pay that fee after confirmation they are connected to a team.

The Peninsula Soccer League, a coed league that kicked off Sept. 3, runs through mid-November with matches on Sundays on the new turf field at Peninsula College. Register a team or get on our free agent list by emailing men’s soccer coach Jake Hughes at jahughes@pencol.edu. A second soccer league will be held in the spring.

The Peninsula Volleyball League, also a coed league, starts in late September and run through mid-December on Tuesday and Thursday nights in the Peninsula College gym. Register a team or get on a free agent list by emailing associate dean for athletics Rick Ross at rross@pencol.edu. A second volleyball league starts in January.

The third league to launch this fall will be an adult 4-on-4 basketball league that will run from late September to mid-December on either Monday or Wednesday nights. Register a team or ask about joining a team by emailing new head men’s basketball coach Bryce Jacobson at bjacobson@pencol.edu. The college plans to run a traditional 5-on-5 league in January.

Peninsula College took over running the adult recreation leagues from the Port Angeles Parks & Recreation in the fall of 2022. Proceeds from leagues support Pirate Athletics.
