Spring break is on for Sequim but there was plenty of athletics to enjoy the week prior.
Baseball
Devyn Dearinger’s bases-clearing two-out double capped a six-run comeback and lifted Sequim to an eventual 8-7 victory over North Mason at home in an Olympic League baseball game on March 26.
Dearinger’s two-out double to left field, his second double of the game, drove in Bryant LaBoy, Braydan White who reached via singles earlier in the inning and Ethan Staples, who drew a two-out walk to keep the inning alive.
White closed out the game, getting past giving up a two-out double and hitting a batter in the sixth and allowing a seventh-inning single before striking out North Mason’s James Ringstad to end the game.
The Wolves trailed 7-1 after the top of the fourth before rallying.
Staples had an RBI single, Dearinger added an RBI double, Duran Ward’s ground out drove in a run and Hunter Tennell also had an RBI in Sequim’s four-run fourth.
The Wolves traveled the day before to Belfair to play the Bulldogs and lost 4-2. White had four hits and an RBI while Staples had two hits and pitched five innings and recorded nine strikeouts.

Boys Soccer
The Wolves (3-2) struggled against the unbeaten Spartans on March 25 in an 8-0 defeat.
“Bainbridge is always a great team and unfortunately when you know that your mindset changes,” coach Dave Breckenridge said. “We tried to give them a run but it didn’t work out. True test for the boys facing the giants that they are.
“We came away with a lot of information and things we definitely need to work on. We have time until we face them at home and I believe the team will be more prepared.”
Sequim rebounded to defeat Olympic 4-1 on Friday, March 28 at home to improve to 3-2 in Olympic League play. They’re next set to travel to play North Kitsap on Friday, April 4.
