The inaugural meeting of the Sequim Bay Rowing and Paddling Association is set for 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Sequim Library meeting room, 630 N. Sequim Ave.

Peter Becker, a U.S. Rowing-certified coach, invites interested rowers and paddlers to join in creating a new community program for sculling and paddling — recreational and competitive — on Sequim Bay.

Becker, an oceanographer, has served as head coach of the Olympic Peninsula Rowing Association in Port Angeles. He’s also helped created the Hampton Roads Rowing Association and the Puget Sound Rowers Gig Racing program.
