Sequim blanks Whidbey, stays in hunt at state

Sequim's Little League softball juniors rebounded nicely from a first-round loss to beat North Whidbey last weekend at the state tourney in Kirkland. Sequim opened with a 5-4 loss to Columbia, the host team, on July 18.

Sequim’s Little League softball juniors rebounded nicely from a first-round loss to beat North Whidbey last weekend at the state tourney in Kirkland.

Sequim opened with a 5-4 loss to Columbia, the host team, on July 18.

A day later, Sequim eliminated the team from North Whidbey with a 10-0 decision, advancing in the consolation bracket.

Sequim was scheduled to play the loser of Glenwood/North Bothell game on July 21 – results were unavailable at press time.

Sequim team members are Michelle Abel, Amariah Clift, Hannah Grubb, Darian Hall, Columbia Haupt, Melissa Lewis, Linda Markham, Emily Milar, Hailey Montelius, Jennifer Morelas, Bailey Rhodefer, Elisa Sallee and Natalie Stevenson with manager Sean Clift and coach Dean Rhodefer.
