Sequim equestrians kick off season in Elma

Sequim Equestrian Team riders were back in action for the first time in nearly a year, competing in District 4’s first meet of the 2021 season from Feb. 26-28 at Grays Harbor Fairgrounds in Elma.

Sequim’s Keri Tucker earned four top-five finishes, including first place in the working rancher competition, while teammate Libby Swanberg had four top-five placings, winning steer daubing, as Sequim tallied 15 top-five finishes overall.

Also competing for the Wolves were Rainey Bronsink and Susannah Sharp. Team members not competing in the first meet include Felicity Brown, Ruby Coulson, Abby Garcia, Haddie Henry and Sierra Steffen.

The second district meet is set for April 8-11 and third is May 20-23, both back in Elma, before the state meet slated for June 17-20 in Moses Lake.
