After splitting the first two games of the tournament, the Sequim-Jefferson County squad made quick work of North Kitsap in the Little League District 2 Juniors championship in Poulsbo last week to take the district title and earn a spot at the state tournament. The team, made up of players from Sequim along with East Jefferson and South Jefferson leagues, dropped their first district game to North Kitsap 5-3 on June 19, then rebounded to top NK 11-8 a day later to set up the championship on June 21. In the final, Sequim-Jefferson County routed North Kitsap 12-2. The Sequim-Jefferson team was scheduled to play June 26 in Monroe, with the state champion crowned June 30.
