Sequim Little League throws big opening party

It’s once again time to play ball, as players and parents, coaches and managers, board members and other volunteers kicked off the 2023 Sequim Little League season with Opening Day festivities on March 25.

More than 25 teams enjoyed a parade onto the field Saturday at James Standard Memorial Park., with the opening pitch thrown by volunteer Kris Lether and caught by Tony Knapp — son of Don Knapp — on the league’s Don Knapp Field.

Practices for about 320-plus children started on March 13 for T-ball, baseball, and softball divisions.
