So far, so good.

Both Sequim High’s boys and girls squads are 2-0 after knocking off Kingston and Port Angeles last week.

On March 22, Sequim’s boys edged a loaded Port Angeles squad by four shots, with Sequim’s Ryan O’Mera and P.A.’s Terrance Stevenson sharing medalist honors at nine-hole rounds of 36.

Sequim was simply too deep for the Riders, with Casey Torres (41), Josh Francis (42), Mallory Maloney (42), Jesse Francis (44) and Anthony Pinza (45) finishing with solid rounds.

A day later, Sequim’s two crews swept aside Kingston. O’Mera (44) won medalist honors again and Josh Francis shot a 47 as the boys topped the Bucs by 28 shots. On the girls side, Sequim topped Kingston by 21 shots to win their league opener. Lisa Doan’s 50 was good for medalist honors, followed by teammates Kim Duce (53) and Hailey Estes (55).

On March 24, it was Sequim’s girls’ time to topple P.A.’s Roughriders. Estes shot a 47 for medalist honors, Duce shot a 48 and Doan was close behind at 50 as the Wolves crushed Port Angeles by 54 shots.

The two Sequim squads are back in action on April 5 at home against Olympic. Sequim’s girls play at Klahowya on April 7.
