Soccer: Storm King’s Lightning strikes seven times in rout

The Storm King Lightning boys’ youth soccer squad improved to 8-0-1 and remains atop the BU11 North Puget Sound League standings after winning 7-1 at Lake Hills Legacy in Bellevue on Nov. 1.

The Storm King Lightning boys’ youth soccer squad improved to 8-0-1 and remains atop the BU11 North Puget Sound League standings after winning 7-1 at Lake Hills Legacy in Bellevue on Nov. 1.

The Lightning saw a hat trick (three goals) from Harrison Bell while teammate Israel Gonzalez added a pair of scores and an assist. Sweeper Brandon Wagner got involved offensively by scoring a goal and an assist and Kobe Applegate added a goal and an assist. Ethan Knight, Matt Mangano and Kristian Mingoy each had an assist.

The Storm King Lightning topped Seattle United South 3-1 on Oct. 25. The defense, led by Wagner, was strong as Seattle United had few scoring chances with the exception of a single goal. Offensively, Gonzalez led the Lighting with a hat trick; two of his goals came unassisted. The other came off of a rebound off of a blast by Bell that deflected to Gonzalez.

The Lighting are at home next Saturday against Kent United at noon at Haller Fields in Sequim.
