Sequim stood its ground Thursday, March 28, against previously undefeated Olympic.

The Wolves led the physical matchup that involved some heated moments toward the end and a 2-0 Sequim victory.

Junior Lijah Sanford scored in the second half (45th minute) with an assist from Omar Flores to give their team a 1-0 lead.

Eleven minutes later Nicholas Baird intricately placed a corner kick into the upper left post for the 2-0 lead.

From here Olympic players became frustrated and one altercation delayed the game for a few minutes.

The Bulldogs’ Miguel Sabastian scored in the 55th minute with Sequim’s Cameron Chase returning the favor with an assist from Ron Welches (80th minute). The Wolves lost in the shootout 5-3.
