Sports announcer to be featured at Wine on the Waterfront

Brad Jay, part-time Port Angeles local and full-time action sports announcer, shares an insider’s view and shows photos from his viewpoint as the in-venue announcer for the snowboard Olympic and Paralympic competitions at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi this Saturday, April 12.

Brad Jay, part-time Port Angeles local and full-time action sports announcer, shares an insider’s view and shows photos from his viewpoint as the in-venue announcer for the snowboard Olympic and Paralympic competitions at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi this Saturday, April 12.

The presentation is at 7 p.m. at Wine on the Waterfront, 115 Railroad Ave., Port Angeles, as part of the Second Saturday Series presented by the Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club.

Suggested donation is $5 at the door.

Jay shares his perspective of the competition as well as his impressions of Sochi, one of the most controversial venues in Olympic history. He will also be talking about the of world of action sports. He has been the announcer at nearly every major action sports event including the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, X games and the ESPYs. He recently purchased property on the Olympic Peninsula to take advantage of the myriad adventure sports available in the area.

Next month’s Second Saturday event will be the fourth annual VideOlympics with more than $1,000 in prizes given for action sport videos featuring the Olympic Peninsula. The deadline for submissions is April 30.
