Youth hoops

camp set

A basketball camp for boys and girls going into grades 2-8 is scheduled for 8-11 a.m., June 18-20 at Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Cost is $30. Registration is done at 8 a.m. the first day of camp.

Sequim Wolves host flag football league

The Sequim High School athletic department hosts flag football league this summer, starting next week, for youths in grades 1-8.

The games runs 9:30-10:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday; dates are June 22-25, June 29-July 2, July 6-9 and July 13-16.

Games are at the high school practice fields, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Cost is $40 per athlete.

Players do not have to show up everyday. The league is split into divisions by age groups.

Hoops camp set

Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department hosts "Hoops Life" basketball camp from 10 a.m.-noon June 22-26 at Roosevelt Elementary School, 106 Monroe Road.

Each camper will receive a basketball and a T-shirt.

Registration forms are available at the Port Angeles Recreation office, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

league set

Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department is registering teams now for the 2009 summer season that begins July 20.

Teams may register by picking up a registration packet at the P.A. Recreation office, 308 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

Players who would like to find a team on which to play can have their names placed on a "free agent" list by calling the office at 417-4557. Leave your name, address and phone number; the list is distributed to league coaches.

The fourth-annual

Sequim Ultimate Doubles Challenge is scheduled for 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the Sequim High School tennis courts, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Cost is $7.50 for Peninsula Tennis Club members; nonmembers pay $12.50.

Players are asked to bring a snack. The tourney is limited to 30 participants.

Local licensed massage practitioners host an educational event at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Father’s Day, June 21.

Massage therapists from Port Angeles and Sequim provide chair massage and education on proper body mechanics and the benefits of massage.

PC soccer

camp set

The Peninsula College soccer fields at 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd. are the site of a youth soccer camp this summer.

From June 22-26 is a camp for youths 8-14 years of age. The camp meets 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. Cost is $90 for YMCA members, $100 for nonmembers.
