Wolfpups has been the

Sequim organization for tackle football and cheerleading for more than 30 years. Football is open to players ages 6-12 and cheerleading for participants ages 5-13. For more information or to register, see www.go-wolfpups.com.

College offers state

soccer coaching course

Peninsula College Soccer team members are hosting a second State E coaching course this summer.

The course is scheduled for 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Aug. 23-24 at the Peninsula College campus, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

At the completion of the 18-hour course, coaches receive a State E coaching license.

The emphasis of the State E course is on coaching players 10-14 years of age. It is a general certificate of 11-per-side play and is intended for those coaches who are in the transitional stage from coaching modified soccer to coaching 11 vs. 11 soccer.

NFL Flag football

registration now open

Sequim NFL Flag football is accepting registrations for the fall 2008 season.

Players ages 6-12 (as of Sept. 1, 2008) are eligible.

Games are played at Greywolf Elementary School fields (171 Carlsborg Road) or the Boys & Girls Club (400 W. Fir St.).

Registration costs ($26 for Boys & Girls Club members, $32 for nonmembers) are to be made at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club. Registration is open until Aug. 25. Registration fee includes cost of NFL jersey and NFL flags.

Volleyball officials needed

Local high school and middle school officials are seeking volleyball officials for upcoming seasons.

Individuals interested in learning to be volleyball officials need to attend training sessions beginning Aug. 19. Training includes theory as well as on-court practice.
