Elliott sinks

Sequim resident Larry Elliott sank his second lifetime hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course Oct. 20. Elliott used an 8-iron to drive 134-yard eighth hole.

Denny Schwiderski and Kim Kay, both of Sequim, witnessed the feat.

Elks host

basketball contest

The annual Sequim Elks hoops shoot is scheduled for 10 a.m., Nov. 8 at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

Girls and boys of ages 8-13 are eligible to participate. Winners in six divisions – separate boys and girls divisions in the 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 categories – advance to a regional playoff in Hoquiam in January.

Registration fliers are available at the Boys & Girls Club.

Wolfpups host

‘Toy Bowl’

The Sequim Wolfpups youth football organization hosts its annual "Toy Bowl," starting at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Sequim High School football field, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Admission to the event is one unwrapped or slightly used toy for donation to a local toy bank for the holiday season; Wolfpup officials also will accept cash donations.

This year’s recipient will be the Salvation Army of Port Angeles.

Toys are donated in honor of former Wolfpups who have died. In recent years, those have included Kaydee Campbell and Jeff Campbell.

The Wolfpups play two games, one at 5:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m. Like last year, the ‘Pups play against a pair of squads from Enumclaw.

In Wolfpup playoff action Saturday, the Wolfpups’ JV team won 26-20 in overtime while the Prep Squad fell 13-7.

‘Tipoff’ hoops

The Port Angeles Parks & Recreation Department hosts the Talking Rain Sparkling Water Tipoff Tourney, a men’s basketball tourney, on Nov. 1-2 in Port Angeles.

Teams are guaranteed at least four games.

Entry fee is $225 per team.
