Yacht club hosts ‘learn to’ programs
Those always wanted to row in a shell? or interested in sailing are invited to take part Sequim Bay Yacht Club’s “learn-to” programs, open to both the public and club members.
The sculling program offers learn-to-row sessions for adults each summer and fall. Early-morning outings introduce novices to rowing and familiarize those who have rowed elsewhere.
Yacht club membership is not required during the learn-to row program. The fee is $150. For more information, meet a rower at the yacht club’s Farmers Market booth on Aug. 18 and Sept. 8, or contact the club at sequimbayrowing@gmail.com.
The club also offers individuals and couples a series of three personalized afternoon sailing lessons. The fee for an individual is $250, for a couple, $350. Those who choose to join the yacht club after completion of the lessons can apply a portion of the lesson fee to the club initiation fee.
For more information and to schedule lessons, contact Dale Dunning at dale@daledunning.com.
