Anglers to meet Thursday

The next monthly meeting of Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter is set for Thursday, July 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

The featured guests are Bob Alverson and Lara Erikson from the International Pacific Halibut Commission — the governing body for all pacific halibut from Alaska, Canada, Washington, Oregon and California. They will discuss the purpose, methodology and natural history and biology of Pacific Halibut.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. for viewing the raffle prizes and fish stories, followed by the featured presentation at 7 p.m. After the presentation is the club’s business meeting, which includes a financial report, government relations report, upcoming events discussions and fishing reports from members. Also on tap are refreshments, the members raffle for fishing gear and a membership drawing (must be present to win). The public is welcome.
