Holland picked for all-state prep baseball contest

A pair of local prep diamond stars are headed east. Senior Ayden Holland from Sequim High School and sophomore Brian Guttormson of Port Angeles High were recently selected to the All-State baseball game in Yakima, set for June 21-22.

Holland, who also recently earned spots on the all-Olympic League second team as a utility player, led the team with a .511 on-base percentage. He batted .283 with four doubles and 17 RBIs.

Hoops camp set at Sequim High gymnasium

Sequim High School, 601 N. Sequim Ave., hosts a youth basketball camp later this month.

The camp, scheduled for June 19-21, is for youngsters entering grades kindergarten-sixth grade. Players in grades kindergarten-second grade meet at the SHS gym from 9-10:30 a.m., and players in grades 3-6 meet in the gym from 10:45 a.m.-12:15. p.m. Cost is $100 per player.
