Storm King soccer sets tryouts

Tryouts for the 2021-2022 Storm King team seasons are set for next week at the Agnew fields at 1240 N. Barr Road, Port Angeles, on the southeast corner of North Barr Road and Old Olympic Highway.

Tryouts for girls are:

• 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday May 18, for boys, girls born 2010-2013

• Noon-2 p.m. Saturday May 22, for boys born 2006, 2009

• 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday May 25, for girls born 2006-2009, boys born 2007-2008

• TBD for boys, girls born 2003-2005

Hash gets ace

Mark Hash of Sequim sank a hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness on May 10, his second lifetime ace.

He used a 7-iron to drive the 171-yard eighth hole at The Cedars.

Linda Hash of Sequim witnessed the feat.

Play for or sponsor Pirates at golf tourney

The annual Pirate Golf Tournament, a fundraiser for Peninsula College athletic programs, is set for Saturday, June 5, at The Cedars at Dungeness, 1965 Woodcock Road.

Format is a four-man scramble with a 9 a.m. shotgun start (check-in at 8 a.m.).

Cost is $100 (green fee) or $125 (green fee plus two mulligans, raffle ticket and one putt-for-wine). Lunch will be provided after the last group finishes.

Hole-in-one prizes include a car and a $10,000 prize ($5,000 to winner, $5,000 to the college).

Annual fundraising for PC programs took a hit when the school had to cancel its annual Casino Night fundraiser, said Rick Ross, Associate Dean for Athletics & Student Life.
