Richardson gets third ace
Cary Richardson of Sequim sank his third career hole-in-one at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course on Sept. 9.
Richardson used a 4 hybrid to drive the 140-yard hole No. 17 at The Cedars.

Anglers to meet
Puget Sound Anglers North Olympic Peninsula Chapter hosts an open to the public general meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road. People start gathering at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m.
Speakers this month are Capt. Roger Slade and Capt. Rebecca Close who run the Towboat US programs out of Port Townsend and Port Angeles, respectively. Their program title is “What Could Possibly Go Wrong.”
Slade was a U.S. Coast Guard petty officer, who began his maritime career in 1967 working on a charter fishing boat in the Florida Keys. He has voyaged professionally on the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans as a crew member, Captain and trainer. He has authored and consulted on curricula for Merchant Mariner Credentialing and currently serves on the Advisory Board for BoatUS. For the past 20 years he has been the CEO of MAPH, Inc. providing emergency response services to boaters and mariners in the Salish Sea with port operations in Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Port Ludlow and the Hood Canal.
After Slade’s presentation, the group will have a short business meeting, fishing reports and raffle drawings. The raffles are for members only; a person can join the chapter at the meeting to participate in the raffles. An annual individual membership is $25, and a family membership is $35. Membership also includes The Reel News monthly newspaper.
Monster truck show on tap
Monster trucks, complete with a pit party, will be presented during Fall Fest at Extreme Sports Park, 2917 W. Edgewood Drive, on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22.
The pit party will feature rides for children and a chance to meet drivers and see the trucks up close. Shows are set for 6-8 p.m. Sept. 21 and 1-3 p.m. Sept. 22. Monster truck tickets are $35 for adults after fees and $25 for children ages 6-12. They can be purchased at tinyurl.com/PDN-MonsterTrucks.
Monster truck tickets are separate from the Fall Fest event.
Weekend passes to Fall Fest are $22.50 after fees for an adult weekend pass or $12.50 for a children’s weekend pass (ages 6-12). Single-day entry is $12.50 for adults, $10.50 for children.
