Pacific Primary Care goes undefeated in junior soccer league

With an unblemished 10-0 record, Pacific Primary Care took the Sequim Junior Soccer League’s U-12 girls division title for the fall league.

The team finished their season battling it out last weekend in the championship game against the Reitz Insurance team of Port Angeles.

Team members include Teagan Moore, Eve Breithaupt, Nikoline Updike, Libby Swanberg, Gianna Riccobene, Michaela Green, Ivy Barrett and Kinzley Henrikson, Jenna Mason, Raquel Hermosillo, Sofie Feik, Kaia Lestage, Alliyah Weber, Anastasia Updike and Kairi Larson, coached by Carl Weber.

Area anglers group to talk West End fishing at meeting

Tom Burlingame is the guest speaker at the next Puget Sound Anglers-North Olympic Peninsula Chapter meeting, set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.

Burlingame owns and operates Excel Fishing Charters and The Inn at Neah Bay (www.excelfishingcharters.com), and is a longtime supporter of the club.

He will talk about fishing for rockfish and lingcod in Neah Bay, and will cover techniques, areas best to fish, gear to use and the use of descending devices.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. for viewing the raffle prizes and meeting stories.

A short club business meeting begins at 7 p.m., with Burlingame’s talk following. A $50 membership drawing and refreshments also are planned.

Turkey Day golf tourney set

SkyRidge Golf Course host a Post Turkey Day two-person scramble, starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at the course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim.

Format includes a front-nine scramble and back-nine better ball.

Cost is $60 per team, plus a $20 optional honey pot.

Carts are $15 per seat. Fee includes lunch after play.

An optional, six-hole horse-race scramble after the tourney and lunch is scheduled — cost is $10 per team.

SkyRidge hails 2016 champs

Ken Chace III and Kathy Langston are the men’s and women’s club champions (gross divisions) at SkyRidge Golf Course for 2016.

Chace shot a 149 over 36 holes for the title while Herman Murillo shot a 128 for net champion.

Langston finished the club’s 18-hole tourney with a 92 for the crown while Sandra Garvey’s 77 was tops for the women’s net division.

In the Player of the Year Championship, it was Chace again taking top honors with a 75 while Brian Cays took the top net score with a 65.

In the Ridge Cup Championship, Murillo took first, Robb Reese was second and John Naples was third.
