Thank goodness for small miracles.

The weather was nearly perfect for the first weekend of the Saundra Kent Memorial Tennis Tournament at the newly refurbished Erickson Park courts in Port Angeles Aug. 1-3.

The event has a distinct

Sequim aura to it, with a host of Sequim players in the finals of several divisions. Final results of the first weekend of action were unavailable at press time; see sequimgazette.com/sports this week for updates.

Play continues into next week as the tournament hosts men’s, women’s and mixed doubles matches, also at the Erickson Park courts.
