Sequim Middle School’s track and field season finished with two team championships, plenty of first place finishes, and a school record at the Olympic League Championship on May 20.
Both the Timberwolves’ boys and girls won with the girls team scoring 200 points and the boys 186.5 to defeat five other local middle schools’ teams.
According to coach Caleb Gentry, Eleanor Jones broke the school record for the 800-meter run in 2:31.15, and the 1600-meter in 5:15.22.
Her time is third in state for all seventh graders in Washington, Gentry said, and eighth fastest for all middle school girl runners.
Boy runners Silas Hagar, Bryant Lawson, Ryder McCreary and Clayton Ernst won first in the 4X100-meters with a 49.55 time and were one-third-of-a-second off from the team and league record, Gentry said.
In total, Sequim took first in 15 boys and girls events.
