The bikers are back.

Bicycle racing returns to the Olympic Peninsula with the 17th Tour De Dungeness race, set for two Saturdays: March 8 and March 15.

Riders in different categories compete on a 12-mile course including Lotzgesell, Cays, East Anderson and Kitchen-Dick roads and Sequim-Dungeness Way.

Races start at 9:45 a.m. each day and go until late afternoon, rain or shine.

Race organizers expect 400-450 riders each day from across the Puget Sound region and Eastern Washington.

The start-finish area and parking is at the north end of Kitchen-Dick Road, across from the Dungeness Recreation Area.

On-site snacks are provided by Mom’s Food Truck (Port Angeles). Organizers encourage the community to stop by, enjoy some coffee and see/participate in the bike races.

For registration or other information, call Mike Van Doren at 775-7796 (before 5 p.m.) or 417-5257 (after 5 p.m.).
