Sequim’s second season starts next week.
The Wolves, 8-5 in league play and 9-5 overall entering their final regular season game on Oct. 26, locked up the league’s No. 2 seed and will host a familiar foe — Kingston — in a district seeding game on Nov. 2.
The winner of that match plays the winner of the North Kitsap/Olympic match on Nov. 4 for the league’s top seed to districts, while losing squads vie for third and fourth seeds.
Bainbridge, who dominated league play this year, is a 3A school and takes a different path to the postseason.
The top six 2A teams from West Central District 2 and 3, set for Nov. 12-13, advance to the state tournament, held Nov. 19-20 at the Sun Dome in Yakima.
The Wolves picked up an easy 3-0 (25-11, 25-10, 25-7) win over Bremerton on Oct. 19.
Kendall Hastings led the Wolves with 13 kills, seven assists and six digs. Setter Allie Gale served 14-for-15 with five aces and had 15 assists.
Mallory Morey served 12-for-12 with three aces and Jordan Hegtvedt added nine digs. Jolene Vaara served 16-for-19 with six aces and six digs. Angel Wagner came in to play with two kills and two blocks.
On Oct. 21, Sequim dropped a four-set decision at Kingston, giving the host Buccaneers a split of the season series.
Sequim was slated to finish the regular season with a home match against the North Mason Bulldogs (1-11) on Oct. 26; results were not available at press time.
