The Peninsula Trails Coalition (PTC) is seeking volunteers for the Tour de Lavender event scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2.
This annual cycling event visits lavender farms throughout the scenic Sequim–Dungeness Valley and along the iconic Olympic Discovery Trail. Participating lavender farms include B&B Family Farm, Lit Lavender, Jardin du Soleil, Purple Haze Lavender, Victor’s Lavender, Fleurish Lavender, and Olympic Bluffs Cidery and Lavender Farm.
Tour de Lavender is the Trails Coalition’s only major annual fundraising event to support the Olympic Discovery Trail — the region’s acclaimed, traffic-free multi-use path spanning the North Olympic Peninsula.
The Olympic Discovery Trail is a beloved 135‑mile corridor connecting communities and showcasing the Peninsula’s beauty. Each Tour de Lavender entry fee supports long-term trail development and maintenance. Funds raised help complete missing trail segments and keep the route accessible and safe
Volunteers are needed to staff refreshment stations at eight lavender farms, deliver food and water to farms the day before, and pick up supplies at farms after. In addition, volunteers are needed to help with activities at the Start/Finish area at the Boys & Girls Club in Sequim. Duties at the Boys & Girls Club include help with registration, refreshments, and cleanup.
Helpers will receive a special Tour de Lavender T-shirt with custom artwork by local artist Todd Fisher, plus pizza and beverages at the midday celebration.
