Winterfest set for Nov. 23

The Olympic Peninsula’s premier winter sports fundraiser is back, looking to help local outdoor sport enthusiasts prep for the 2019-20 season.

Winterfest — a dinner, auction, film festival and more — is set for 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St. Doors open at 5 p.m.

In addition to a prime rib dinner sponsored by First Federal, Manitou Lodge and 7 Cedars Casino, attendees can enjoy appetizers, live and silent auctions, music by Bill, Barry and Friends, and a series of short films featuring local skiers and snowboarders at Hurricane Ridge.

Contributions are tax-deductible and proceeds support capital improvements to the Hurricane Ridge Ski Area, as well as scholarships to underprivileged community youths who would like to learn how to ski, snowboard or participate on ski team.

Tickets are $65 in advance and $80 at the door. Community tables for eight are $500.
