Wolf Pack kicks off season with jamboree

Nearly 300 young football players and their families converged on Port Angeles’ Civic Field Saturday to kick off the North Olympic Youth Football League 2010 season.

Prep, Junior Varsity and Varsity Teams from Forks, Neah Bay, Port Angeles, Sequim, Chimacum and Port Townsend gathered for the annual Jamboree.

Scrimmage games began at 10 a.m. in the morning and finished up about 7 p.m. Saturday evening. Each of the Olympic Peninsula teams played two quarters of supervised tackle football with their league counterparts.

Players ranged in age from 6-12 years old. Throughout the day, two games were being played simultaneously at each end of the football field.
