YMCA, The Cedars to host second annual ‘Fore the Kids’ golf tourney

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA is gearing up for its second-annual Fore the Kids Golf Tournament, slated for Saturday, Sept. 21, at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course, 1965 Woodcock Road.

The tournament features a four-person scramble format with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Entry fee for the tournament is $100 per player or $65 for Cedars members. Registration is open through Monday, Sept. 16, and players can register at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course by calling 360-582-4900 or visiting the course’s pro shop.

The fee pays for lunch, 18 holes of golf (with cart), course contests, tournament shirt, swag bag, drawings for items such as Seattle Seahawks tickets, a one-year YMCA membership and more.

All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Olympic Peninsula YMCA’s Member Support Fund to provide financial assistance to individuals, families and children in need on the Olympic Peninsula.

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA includes the YMCA of Port Angeles, YMCA of Sequim and YMCA of Jefferson County.

“Member support is offered to individuals and families in need year-round because the Y believes cost should never be a barrier to membership or program participation,” YMCA representatives said last week.
