Cameron wins contract

Cameron Cattle Co., of Sequim, won a $23,471.50 federal contract from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Park Service for winter pasture, feeding and caring services for mules, in Olympic National Park.

Business networking group to mees

Beginning Nov. 23, the group BNI Rainshadow Referrals meets every Wednesday from 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at the Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, 380 E. Washington St., Sequim. It’s a gathering of local business owners to network, exchange ideas and help each other grow.

This is a new chapter and the first in Clallam County. It’s for new and established business professionals looking to grow and meet other professionals.

Bee farm still in contest running

Sequim Bee Farm, owned by Buddy and Meg DePew, is among five finalists in Kitsap Bank’s 2016 edg3 FUND small business competition. The winner of the $20,000 grand prize will be announced at an event Thursday, Nov. 17, in the Kitsap Conference Center, 100 Washington Ave., Bremerton.

The other four finalists are from Gig Harbor, Mount Vernon, Auburn and Kingston. Newly established for 2016 is the additional $5,000 cash prize called the Community edg3 Award.

Chosen from the pool of 11 semi-finalists, this award recognizes the applicant who, in the judges’ opinions, best embodies community and giving back.

Sequim Gym offers Chi Kung class

Michael Gilman from the Gilman Studio in Port Townsend will be sharing a special Chi Kung class at Sequim Gym, 145 E. Washington St.

The class is from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, and a fee applies.

The focus includes strengthening, cleansing and aligning the three main energy centers of the body. This will result in feeling more balanced, centered, aligned and energized. The exercises are done standing or can be beneficial seated as well.
