The City of Sequim invites community members to participate in the “May is Bike Month” activities.
This month-long celebration is dedicated to promoting cycling as a healthy, environmentally friendly, and enjoyable mode of transportation.
Month-long
• Bike Everywhere Challenge — Participants are challenged to choose bicycling over cars for trips to work, school, or errands. Participate as an individual or form a team online.
• Free bike inspections — Each Saturday, visit the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market (between 9 a.m-2 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center, 152 W. Cedar St.) for a complimentary bike inspection. This first-come, first-served service is provided by Sequim Bike Works.
• Bike Month Bingo — Get the 2024 Bingo card on the City of Sequim website (sequimwa.gov) for fun additions to rides.
Events
Bike Month kicked off with a Bike Swap & Sale at Sequim Bike Studio on May 4 and National Ride a Bike Day on May 5.
Remaining events include:
• Celebrate Bike to Work Week — Held May 13-19, this program encouraged people to commit to commuting on two wheels and enjoy a sense of community and accomplishment.
• Bike to Work Day — On Friday, May 17, Rainshadow Café (157 W. Cedar St.) will offer free drip coffee for cyclists until 10 a.m.
