Author group seeks submissions for second anthology

The Olympic Peninsula Authors have plans for a second anthology of prose and poetry, with the goal of increasing awareness of talented local authors.

The finished volume will be a high quality trade-size paperback, also available in Kindle format. Submissions will be selected and edited by Linda B. Myers and Heidi Hansen, both founders of Olympic Peninsula Authors.

Selected authors will be featured to read from their submissions at a launch party later this year.

“Local” includes authors who live on and/or write about life on the Olympic Peninsula. Preference will be given to settings that have some relevance to the area (editors understand that science fiction or fantasy submission may not meet that criteria). No more than two submissions per author are allowed.

Prose or poetry selections will receive up to 14 pages in the anthology along with an author biography and contact information. Submissions may include short fiction, essays, memoirs or poems; a combination; or a single piece.

For complete submission guidelines, send an email request to: olympicpeninsulaauthors@gmail.com.

Final date for submissions is July 7.

There is no charge for the submission, however, for those selected for inclusion in the book, a $45 fee will be assessed to cover marketing and publicity for the book. This fee will include a copy for the author ($20 retail value).

The group’s first anthology, “In The Words of Olympic Peninsula Authors,” is available online and at local retailers.
