Raising the roof for barn quilts

Thirty local artists came together on Aug. 10 to learn and create their own barn quilt paintings. The Sunbonnet Sue Quilt Club hosted the workshop at the Sequim Prairie Grange where author Suzi Parron spoke about her experiences photographing barn quilts, learning their history and more. Artists designed and created their own 2-feet-by-2-feet barn quilts and many showed them off at the club’s weekly meeting. The Sequim Prairie Grange boasts its own 6-foot-by-6-foot barn quilt display outside at 290 Macleay Road. It’s part of the Washington State Heritage Quilt Trail.
