Sequim Accordion Social set for Sunday

Join fellow accordion players, enthusiasts and dancers for an afternoon of music and fun at the Sequim Accordion Social, set for 1-4 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St.

All players are encouraged to bring their instrument and play a few selections.

Admission is a suggested $2-3 donation at the door to cover the hall rental, and to thank featured player Doris Osgood of Forest Grove, Ore.

Osgood joined Eileen Hagen’s ensemble when she moved to Forest Grove and played concerts and competitions with them for several years. She leads the Tualatin Valley Accordionists ensemble and produces a large regional accordion celebration twice each year, which she’s done for the past 27 years.

Osgood also does much to further the accordion in the Northwest, editing the NWAS News, contributing to the Leavenworth International Accordion Celebration, teaching and organizing scholarships for young accordion players.
