Sequim School District staff, like John McAndie, Sequim School District’s director of maintenance, tested drinking water at both Greywolf and Helen Haller Elementaries and found some sinks had excess lead. The sinks have since been shut off and school officials are continuing sampling at the schools and plan for more testing at the district

Paquin’s yellow rubber duck — one of more than 29,500 entered into the 27th annual Great Olympic Peninsula Duck Derby held May 22 — was the first to float over the finish line, earning Paquin a choice between a 2016 Tacoma pickup truck or Corolla donated by Wilder Toyota of Port Angeles.
