She also had a long career in nursing including a Bachelors of Science in nursing from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1951; she served as a Registered Nurse; and made a life time of contributions in both public health nursing and school nursing.

Always one to care for others, she was an ac tive participant in many organizations but particularly in the Lutheran Churches at Atonement Lutheran in Barrington, Illinois; and Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church in Sequim, Washington.

In retirement, she loved living many years in the Sherwood Village Community in Sequim, and her involvement in public heath causes in the community.

In addition to caring for many people, she was a great lover of music, particularly singing; animals, including many beloved family pets; and flowers, for which she had a green thumb particularly for peonies and roses.

A private family memorial service was held in Shoreline, Washington after her passing.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Dungeness Valley Luthern Church.
