CCMC Toy Run a success

Don’t let the leather jacket exterior fool you — these bikers have a soft spot.
Local motorcycle riders turned out in droves once again for the 18th-annual CCMC Toy Run on Saturday afternoon trekking from Blyn to Port Angeles to celebrate the holiday season and, most importantly, to collect toys for the Salvation Army.
Verna Yaun, president of the Clallam County Mother’s Club, said the event usually sees about 100 to 150 bikers, men and women, to collect new toys for the local Salvation Army.
Last year, with poor weather threatening, the Toy Run saw about 105. This year? Try 130 bikers.
“Biker charities have been going for a lot of years,†Yaun said. “They enjoy getting out and riding. They have the common goal of lifting up our community.â€
