Gala goes gaga for Garden Guru

Helen Haller Elementary’s gymnasium packed out like most of Ed Hume’s flower gardens for his presentation on March 20th.

Hume was keynote speaker for the Soroptimist’s 12th annual Gala Garden Show at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club.

The garden guru shared stories and tips for growing vegetables year-round and said healthy soil was key in good gardening.

Other speakers on Saturday and Sunday talked about sustainable gardens, pond maintenance and more.

Ticket sales go to Soroptimist’s projects in the area.
