Gull Gone

From start to finish, it took about 15 minutes for workers from Admiralty Crane of Sequim to gently lower the former Gull station sign from the intersection of Sequim Avenue and Washington Street at 8 a.m. Monday, June 24. Admiralty Crane owner Charlie Roberts estimated the sign was 30-35 feet tall and weighed about 3,000 pounds. The event went smoothly as a small group of onlookers watched. Admiralty returned the sign to the city and salvaged the pole. The city recently purchased the lot and has plans to add benches this summer as part of the downtown streetscaping project.
