Dungeness Health & Wellness Clinic board president Dr. Audrey Gift announced May 7 that Jean Stratton has been appointed executive director of the Sequim clinic.
Stratton replaces Jim Pickett, who was elected to the board of directors last November.
“Jean was chosen from a number of qualified applicants,” Gift said. “She brings extensive business management experience to the Sequim free clinic and will help us grow our resources to keep pace with our increasing patient load.”
As executive director, Stratton will work together with clinic director Rose Gibbs and medical director Kip Tulin.
Stratton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in sociology. Her specialized training includes grantsmanship and mediation.
She has served as the executive director of two other nonprofit organizations and brings the Sequim clinic much-needed experience in donor development and grant writing, clinic officials said.
Stratton is a member of the Soroptimist International of Sequim and is known in the community for her volunteer work.
Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic is the Sequim free clinic, which serves uninsured and under-insured patients in the community. Find more information about the clinic at www.sequimfreeclinc.org.
