That’s a Lot of Peanut Butter

Staffers from Sound Community Bank and several City of Sequim employees collected peanut butter at the Irrigation Festival’s Grand Parade on May 11. A week later they delivered the goods to the Sequim Food Bank. Last year’s first peanut butter drive collected 400 jars; this year, Sound Community Bank — the Grand Parade sponsor — and city employees donated 512 jars. “We hope that this tradition will continue to grow each year,” said Deon Kapetan, festival director. “Peanut butter is the most expensive item that the food bank must usually purchase and we were proud to be a part of this new tradition.” Pictured are (back row, from left) Stephen Rosales, Kyla Rigg, Hailey Kapetan, Michele Sorrentino, Tony Bush, Madison Bush, Kirsten Pavlak, Jordan Pavlak and Li Li, with (front row, from left) Deon Kapetan, Shawnna Rigg, Maria Bush, Paul Haines, Shelby Wells, Sydney Owens, Heather Wells and Noelle Fazio.
