PC students honored for drama production
Four Peninsula College students received recognition for outstanding achievement for their work in PC’s Main Stage production of Charles Busch’s comedy, “Our Leading Lady,” staged recently in the campus’ Little Theater. Jonathan Mitchell and Joe Crollard were recognized for their outstanding research and presentation work as dramaturgs (research and development specialists) for the production. Victoria Smith and Steven Berry were selected to compete in the Irene Ryan Competition at the upcoming Kennedy Center for the American College Theater Festival, held in Denver, Colo., in February.
A representative of a national “Respondent Program” selected the PC students and others to attend regional theater festivals across the country. Students attend classes and workshops to improve their skills, meet and work with theater professionals, see plays and compete to showcase their skills with a chance to advance to a final competition at New York’s Kennedy Center April 11-16.
