Clallam County Noxious Weed Control coordinator Cathy Lucero will provide information on weeds that are edible and some that may look similar, but are not edible at noon Thursday, March 23, in the county commissioners meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse.

She will provide tools for identifying and distinguishing between edible and inedible weeds, tips for collecting and preparing a dozen edible weeds, and pros and cons of incorporating them into our diets.

Lucero studied botany at the University of Washington and completed her degree in environmental science through the Huxley program at Western Washington University. She has been in her present position for 19 years.

This presentation is part of the Green Thumbs Garden Tips educational series sponsored by the WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners on the second and fourth Thursday of every month in Port Angeles. Presentations occur from noon-1 p.m. at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles and are free and open to the public. For questions, call 360-565-2679.
