Committee to review urban growth area plans
The Clallam County/Sequim/Port Angeles/Forks Growth Management Steering Committee meets at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 29, in the commissioners meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
The agenda includes recommended countywide planning policy updates from the City of Port Angeles and discussion regarding the County-City Urban Growth Area. Call 417-2277 for more information.
Feline Fine at Harbinger Winery
Feline Fine, a benefit event to support the rescues of Peninsula Friends of Animals, will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at the Harbinger Winery, 2358 West Highway 101, Port Angeles. Tastes of Mt. Townsend artisan cheeses and delicious WeDo Fudge will be offered. Wine will be available for purchase. There also will be raffle items.
The event features live music by the Crocs and admission is by donation. Take home a special bottling of “Caternet” with a unique label designed by “Barky.”

Shellfish harvest updates
The Clallam County Environmental Health Division has updated shellfish harvest information. Open areas are the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Cape Flattery east to the Lyre River. Closed areas are the strait from the Lyre River to the Jefferson County line. Sequim Bay is closed to butter and varnish clams.
Guild’s thrift shop open Saturday
The Sequim Dungeness Hospital Guild Thrift Shop, 204 W. Bell St., Sequim, will be open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 1. Featured will be unique furnishings and accessories, summer clothing for everyone, kitchenware, designer handbags, unusual jewelry and shoes, plus books and puzzles. All-white tagged items will be marked half-price. Consignors and new volunteers always are needed. Call 683-7044 for more information.
SMUG panel answers Mac questions
Strait Macintosh User Group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles. There will be a panel discussion of member-selected topics. Bring your topics and questions to the meeting or, even better, send them to Glenn at glenn@mactraders.net before the meeting.
PUD meeting canceled
The Clallam County PUD is canceling the board commissioners’ meeting set for Monday, July 3. The next regular meeting is Monday, July 10. See www.clallampud.net or call 565-3231 for more information.
Senior Nutrition menu set
Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus are served at 4:30 p.m. at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., on Tuesdays-Fridays. Suggested donation is $5 (60 and over), $8 guest and a 24-hour advance reservation is needed. RSVP to 683-8491. Menus are subject to change.
Thursday, June 29: Cucumber salad, shrimp/vegetables stir-fry, fried rice, pineapple upside down cake
