Fourth Friday Readings puts spotlight on author, PC instructor

Peninsula College instructor Sarah Shepard will read from her memoir of life in the Himalayas as the featured writer at the Fourth Friday Readings, set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Road, Sequim.

Shepard is a loyal participant at the Fourth Friday events who has shared selections from her memoir “Shangri-La: Let the World Around Us Fade Away,” and will present another chapter for the evening. She is also working on two young adult novels, has authored many short stories, and teaches memoir writing for the Peninsula College’s Continuing Education Program in Sequim.

An hour of 5-minute open mic readings follow the presentation. Interested writers should come early to submit their names. Participants are asked to rehearse in advance as the readings are timed. For guidelines, contact lindabmyers@yahoo.com. This is a free event.
