Time to dust off those softball gloves.

Sequim’s Senior Softball Grey Wolves club invites all interested men and women softball players to come out this spring for a good time. The club promotes coed senior softball in the Sequim and Olympic Peninsula region, with the goal of fostering good sportsmanship and providing positive social interactions among the players.

The club’s top two rules: “Have fun” and “Play safe.” The league has modified rules that emphasize “limited contact” to help ensure lower risk for injuries.

Interested players from all over the area gather at Carrie Blake Community Park each Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with warm-up at 8:30 a.m., batting practice at 9 a.m. and games beginning at about 9:45-10 a.m.

The Grey Wolves are a co-ed league with age requirements of 50-plus for men and 45-plus for women. Players’ ages currently vary from the mid 50s into the high 70s. The recreational league features players of varying skill levels, and players of all levels are encouraged to turn out.

The group plays both recreationally and competitively throughout the summer months.

Registration for league play is under way through May 1. Annual dues cost $30 or $35 with a league baseball cap included.
