The Sequim Equestrian Team is headed to state after earning five individual and four team qualifiers at their third District 4 meet of the season April 5-7 in Elma.

Grace Niemeyer helped lead the way, earning a district gold medal in Jumping. Teammate Yana Hoesel was third in Breakaway Roping and Keri Tucker placed third in Working Rancher, with each earning a bronze medal.

Hoesel and Miranda Williams also both came home with $500 scholarships from Washington State High School Equestrian Teams District 4.

The Washington High School Equestrian Team WAHSET final competitions are set for May 16-19 at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake.
