Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County announces a grief support group on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. — starting on June 18 and running for six weeks through July 30 (no meeting on July 2) — at Hospice House, 810 S. Albert St., Port Angeles.

Kathy Frantz, who has a 30-year career working as a licensed mental health counselor, case manager and geriatric mental health specialist, facilitates the group.

Frantz has provided services in hospice/home health, community mental health, hospital and educational settings. She has also developed and facilitated support groups on loss and grief, women in transition and depression and anxiety in older adults.

Though there is no charge, space is limited and participants must pre-register with the VHOCC office by calling 360-452-1511.

Since 1978 VHOCC has been providing free hospice services to patients and their families in Clallam County, from Diamond Point to Joyce. Part of VHOCC’s mission is to offer grief support groups, not only to families of hospice patients but to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one.

Grief support groups are scheduled throughout the calendar year, with the following group starting on Sept. 9 in Sequim.
