Summer Reading Program blasts off with magician

Magician Jeff Evans returned to the Sequim Library on June 22 to help kick off a summer filled with events at the North Olympic Library System’s Summer Reading Program.

Families filled half of the Sequim Middle School’s cafeteria to see his “Out of this World Magic Show” that focused on air pressure, gravity and more.

Several more events are scheduled through the library’s “A Universe of Stories” summer program, including Storytime at the Sequim Farmers Market at the Sequim Civic Center starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 29;” The Future of the Final Frontier” with Ron Hobbs, Solar System ambassador for NASA’s jet Propulsion Laboratory, at 4 p.m. June 29, in the library; Pacific Science Center’s Science on Wheels presents: A Space Odyssey at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Sequim Middle School; Firefighter Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at the library; and more.

Friends of Sequim Library supports programming through its monthly books and media sales behind the library at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
