Nyby brings music talents to Trinity United service
Jim Nyby, a gospel/blues piano player and singer, will display his talents in the 10 a.m. service Sunday, Sept. 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.
A longtime resident of the Port Townsend area, Nyby has presented concerts and was involved with various bands in that area before forming his own: Jim Nyby and the F Street Band.
Nyby has worked at the Jefferson County Library in Port Hadlock since 1992.
‘Supernatural’ documentary to screen at Friends church
“A Supernatural Nature Documentary: The Riot and the Dance’ will be featured at Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church’s free monthly Movie and a Meal, set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in the Agnew Friends Hall, 1241 N. Barr Road.
Directed by author-filmmaker N. D. Wilson (“The River Thief,” “Notes from the Tilt-a-Whirl”), “The Riot and the Dance” is narrated by Gordon Wilson and inspired by his biology textbook of the same name.
A supper of homemade soups and salads with bread or rolls and home-baked cookies will be served at 6 p.m., and the movie starts as people are served.
“Everyone is welcome to come and watch the movie while we eat together,” said Vicki Carlisle, clerk of the Social Committee. “We’ll be done by 8 p.m. for a family-friendly evening.”
